FAQs

What is FeatherHaven Post Club?

1

FeatherHaven Post Club is a monthly mailed newsletter experience for children featuring real wildlife from FeatherHaven, Sara’s backyard garden ecosystem. Each issue includes a story, animal facts, activities, a kindness challenge, and collectible elements designed to help kids connect with nature, imagination, and compassion.

What age range is this for?

2

FeatherHaven Post Club is designed for children ages 4–10. Younger children may enjoy it best with a grown-up reading alongside them, while older children can explore many of the activities independently.

Is FeatherHaven a real place?

3

Yes! FeatherHaven is a real backyard garden near a pond in the Tampa Bay area. The animals featured in the newsletter are inspired by real wildlife visitors observed there, including rabbits, crows, egrets, squirrels, and other backyard friends.

Are the animals in the stories real?

4

Yes — the animal characters are inspired by real FeatherHaven visitors. The stories add imagination and personality, but they are rooted in real animal behaviors, real observations, and a love for peaceful coexistence with nature.

What comes in each issue?

5

Each mailed issue may include:

  • A FeatherHaven story featuring a real animal visitor

  • Fun animal facts

  • An activity, puzzle, or coloring page

  • A kindness challenge

  • A collectible animal card or keepsake element

The exact contents may vary a little from month to month, because nature likes to keep us on our toes. Little diva.

Is this a digital newsletter?

6

Nope! FeatherHaven Post Club is intentionally screen-free and mailed directly to your child. It is designed to feel like happy mail — something kids can open, hold, read, color, save, and look forward to each month.

How often will my child receive it?

7

FeatherHaven Post Club is mailed monthly. Each issue features a new story, animal, activity, and kindness moment from FeatherHaven.

What subscription options are available?

8

There are recurring billing options available for both monthly and seasonal memberships. Monthly memberships are billed each month, while seasonal memberships are billed every six months.

Can I give this as a gift?

9

Yes! FeatherHaven Post Club makes a sweet gift for children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, homeschool families, or any kid who loves animals, mail, stories, and little surprises.

Do you personalize each issue?

10

The main newsletter content is not individually personalized, which helps keep the subscription affordable and consistent. However, each child still receives their own mailed FeatherHaven experience.

How will the newsletter be addressed?

11

The newsletter can be addressed to the child using their first name, care of the parent or guardian. For example: Emma c/o Jamie Smith

Do you need my child’s full name?

12

No. To help protect children’s privacy, only the child’s first name is needed for the subscription.

What information do you collect?

13

We collect only the information needed to manage the subscription and mail the newsletter, such as the parent or guardian’s name, mailing address, email address, and the child’s first name.

Is my information kept private?

14

Yes. Your information is used only for FeatherHaven Post Club subscription, mailing, and communication purposes. It will not be sold, shared, or used for unrelated marketing.

When will the first issue ship?

15

The first issue will ship according to the launch schedule listed on the subscription page. After that, issues will be mailed monthly.

When will I be billed?

16

Billing depends on the membership option selected at checkout. Monthly memberships are billed on the same day as your original purchase each month, and seasonal memberships are billed every six months. You will receive a reminder of upcoming payments prior to each billing date.

Can I cancel my subscription?

17

Yes. You can cancel your child’s subscription before your next billing date. To cancel your child’s subscription, please send an email to support@welcometofeatherhaven.com at least 3 days prior to your next billing date to allow enough time to process your request. Cancelation requests received less than 3 days prior to the next billing date cannot be guaranteed.

Can I change my mailing address?

18

Yes. If you move or need to update your mailing address, please email the new address to support@welcometofeatherhaven.com at least 3 days prior to the next mailing cycle so your child’s newsletter heads to the right little mailbox.

What if my issue gets lost in the mail?

19

If your child’s issue does not arrive within a reasonable time after mailing, email us at support@welcometofeatherhaven.com so we can help. Mail goblins are rare, but they do occasionally cause mischief.

Is this educational?

20

Yes, but not in a dry textbook way. Each issue gently introduces nature facts, observation skills, emotional intelligence, kindness, and curiosity through stories and activities children can actually enjoy.

Is this religious?

21

No. FeatherHaven Post Club is rooted in kindness, nature appreciation, imagination, and connection. It is designed to be welcoming for families from many backgrounds and beliefs.

Does FeatherHaven encourage kids to touch or feed wildlife?

22

A core message of FeatherHaven is peaceful coexistence with nature. Children are encouraged to observe respectfully, give wildlife space, and understand that wild animals should not be approached, chased, handled, or treated like pets. At FeatherHaven, we feed the wildlife responsibly, never touching or handling the animals.

Is this safe for classroom or homeschool use?

23

Yes. FeatherHaven Post Club can be enjoyed at home, in homeschool settings, or as an enrichment activity. Classroom-specific versions may be offered in the future.

Who creates FeatherHaven Post Club?

24

FeatherHaven Post Club is created by Sara Olin, the garden guardian and observer behind FeatherHaven. Sara writes from real backyard wildlife experiences and turns them into gentle, imaginative, character-building content for children.

Why start a mailed newsletter for kids?

25

Because getting real mail still feels magical. FeatherHaven Post Club gives children a monthly moment of wonder, creativity, and connection away from screens — and reminds them that kindness can ripple out into the world.
